FOTD 11/20/11

This is a look that I actually tried to follow from a tutorial I watched last night while I was sick in bed :( hahaha I woke up this morning and tried to remember all the steps, but ended up improvising a bit with the colors! Here's what I came up with:
It turned out to be a smokey taupey-brown eye look with a smudged darker grey outer corner! The video I used that inspired me to try out this different eyeliner technique was from MakeupByAlli, one of my favorite makeup gurus on YouTube! I embedded her video at the end of this post! :) <3

Here's a picture of the products I used and list of how I used all the products:

Eyes:
1. First I primed my eyelids with ELF Eyeshadow Primer (not pictured)
2. Dabbed Bobbi Brown's cream shadow in Stone all over the lid to give my eyes a nice slightly shimmery gray-mauvey base.
3. Lined my upper lash line with Urban Decay's 24/7 eyeliner pencil in Zero. I didn't have to be too careful with the liner because I smudged it out with my finger. This created a darker gray base for the next shadow to come out a bit darker.
4. Patted MAC's eyeshadow in Prepped for Glamour all over the lid. I love this eyeshadow, it's similar to MAC's Satin Taupe!
5. Blended out the top part of the shadow with MAC's Wedge (top  of my MAC quad)
6. Then lined my eyes with Loreal Lineur Intense in Mica.
7. Smudged out the eyeliner with a smudge brush with MAC's Typographic (bottom right of my MAC quad). I focused the smudging more on the outer corner and tried to make the liquid liner a bit indistinct so that it could look a bit smokier.
8. Lined my lower lash line with Urban Decay's 24/7 pencil in Whiskey and patted on a dark brown matte shadow on the lower lash line to make the color last a bit longer.
9. Curled my eyelashes and coated my lashes with Maybelline's The Falsies mascara.

Face:
1. Clinique Redness Solutions Makeup in Calming Ivory
2. Cover FX concealer in Light Medium
3. The Face Shop's eyebrow pencil in Dark Brown
4. NARS Laguna

Lips:
1. Revlon's Colorburst Lip Butter in Creme Brulee (my fav!)

Here's the video that I was inspired by. Love it!!
